After sauteing the onions and mushrooms<br \/>\nin butter, deglazing with white wine, then adding the fresh chopped<br \/>\ntarragon and vegetable stock, this formed the base of a subtle but aromatic<br \/>\ncream sauce for the pan-seared salmon steaks, resting on a bed of<br \/>\nmushroom risotto (with a little extra cognac to kick it up a notch).<\/p>\n<p>And Gigi was just sitting there, absently poking at it with her fork.<\/p>\n<p>This was right out of a gender-bent 50&#8217;s melodrama. Frustrating. But I have to admit, they open up ways to make<br \/>\nthe overall plan cleaner and simpler, with a smaller footprint, but more interesting internal<br \/>\ndesign and structure that comes closer to what we had in mind originally.
